Volunteering checklist
We've put together a short checklist to make sure you are ready to start volunteering. Follow the information below:
Registration
Visit the GoodSAM website and complete the following:
- ID check
- Select your roles and activities
- Apply for DBS - see Volunteer Responder checks required.
The GoodSAM app
After downloading the GoodSAM app by following the link in your registration email, follow these steps:
- Log in
- Enable notifications and location and adjust your preferences
- Switch to 'On duty'
- Complete your emergency contact.
Set up your profile
Visit the GoodSAM website and complete the following:
- Set any additional languages
- Complete your Driver Declaration
- Add your photo.

- Read Getting You Started Guides for all volunteering roles and activities that you've selected.
Support available for you
- Our Support Team is available from 9am to 6pm every day, call them on 0808 196 3382

- Come along to one of our regular volunteer webinars
- Watch out for our regular email newsletters sent to all Volunteer Responders.
Receiving and completing your first task

Volunteer expenses
Ensure that you claim for any out of pocket expenses:
- Log into concur.co.uk/rvs
