Gender reassignment
Gender reassignment is one of the 9 protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. The Equality Act protects individuals from discrimination and harassment who is ‘proposing to undergo, is undergoing or has undergone a process or part of a process to reassign their sex’. A person does not need a Gender Recognition Certificate to be protected under the characteristic of gender reassignment.
