Connect in the community

We’ve had lots of requests for help for our latest activity, Connect. This activity is being piloted in Kirklees, Buckinghamshire, Birmingham & Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. If you live in one of these areas, please make sure you switch ‘on duty’ to accept a task.

There have been some wonderful examples of how volunteers such as yourself can make a difference, but there are still lots of people out there in need of support.

One woman would love someone to spend time with her, have a cup of tea and play a board game or have a chat. She’s lost her confidence to go out into her garden, but the support of a volunteer can make all the difference.

A man with mobility issues and mild learning difficulties wants help to do his food shopping. With no family nearby, he would really appreciate some help.

Remember, you need to press accept to read further details when you get a task request. You can then choose to carry out the task, or if not of interest, pass to another volunteer. Just click the ‘actions’ tab and select ‘pass to another volunteer’.
